Globtel AIR Gigaray series is a carrier grade fixed wireless solution, designed for larger number of users with high demand for data throughput.
The architecture design was with a CMTS or Remote PHY unit in an indoor room at the tower site. The Globtel AIR Indoor Unit is connected via coaxial cables to the outdoor unit which provides connectivity to the users within the coverage area.
In cooperation with Harmonic, Globtel AIR has developed a CableOS powered solution, where the Remote PHY unit is integrated into the outdoor housing thus removing the need for air conditioned indoor rooms and coaxial cables at the tower site.
We are utilizing Harmonic CableOS server cluster which currently has the capacity to support up to 48 wireless nodes. Each of them has:
- 90 degree coverage zone
- Support for up to 2000 internet users
- Up to 4.7 Gbps od downlink traffic
- Up to 2.7 Gbps of uplink traffic
- 2 Gbps of downlink throughput to the end user and 500 Mbps of uplink throughput
The solution supports all commonly allocated PtMP frequency band including:
- 10 GHz
- 12 GHz
- 24 GHz
- 28 GHz
- 31 GHz
- 36 and 37 GHz
- 47 GHz
- 60 GHz
- 70 GHz
- 80 GHz
