At the directive of the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of South Sudan, a regional partner of Globtel Holding, Airconnect ISP visited Juba, the capital of South Sudan
In today’s difficult times of the pandemic, Internet connectivity is of great importance all over the world, especially in Africa. By expanding work and even schooling from home, it is necessary to ensure fast and stable Internet access for everyone, not only in urban areas but also or especially in rural areas, where they are very underserved in this area. The Government of South Sudan is all too well aware of this, so they have recognized the potential that the AIR FWA solution has and offers.

At the kind invitation of His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information Communication Technology and Postal Services in The Republic of South Sudan, Dr. Lado Wani Kenyi, the Globtel Holding’s regional partner Airconnect team visited Juba on 8 March. Based on the directives of His Excellency the Minister Mr. Michael Makuei Lueth out of his interest in the renaissance of developing the communications and Internet system for providing the best-needed services publicly and to link the state with the outside world, the Airconnect team held a presentation of AIR Technology in the conference hall of the Ministries Complex in Juba. During the presentation two products, AIR Gigaray and AIR Omniray were fully introduced to the Technical Team of the Ministry.
»Both teams suggested a reliable future of development, as the technology idea was well received by the attendees, hoping to be an addition and contribute to the development of the Internet, networking, and broadband services in South Sudan«, commented Mr. Abdalshkoor Bakri, the head of the work team, and expressed a desire to launch AIR services in Juba as soon as the technical studies were completed and licenses were issued to practice work from the relevant authorities. In conclusion, Bakri said: »We are extremely pleased that the AIR FWA technology will provide Sudan, and we believe soon South Sudan as well, with state-of-the-art Internet access.«
