Digital subscriber line
Digital subscriber line or DSL is a form of Internet connection that makes use of existing copper telephone lines to provide internet access. Only customers who have a landline can connect to DSL through a phone company.
The quality of DSL service heavily depends on the distance from the endpoint to the internet service provider’s hub. The longer the distance is, the poorer and/or slower the internet connection is. The maximum limit that ISPs have coverage with DSL is about 5 km or a little over 3 miles. Many ISPs don’t even push the maximum due to the lack of quality at the very end.
